Pattern Engine scripted plugin for 3ds Max
Pivot Studio has released Pattern Engine, a new scripted tool for 3ds Max that generates procedural panelling types. The tool is designed to simplify the creation of complex 3D patterns such as parametric designs, tiles, partitions, and upholstery through a combination of flexible customization options and user-friendly controls.
The tool offers multiple array modes, including Grid, Radial, and Random, allowing users to arrange patterns in different layouts. It includes an extensive library of over 40 primitive shapes that can be adapted to any flat, closed 2D shape. Users can fine-tune their designs by adjusting parameters like depth, angle, scale, and visibility on a per-item basis.
One standout feature is the Effects system, which allows users to apply dynamic adjustments across patterns using gradients, random values, or expressions. Patterns can also be blended for more nuanced control. The tool offers specialized modes such as Concave Mode for hollow shapes, Outline Mode for framed items, and Bumpy Convex for upholstery-style forms.
With over 200 built-in presets and immediate saving functionality, Pattern Engine aims to streamline the workflow for designers using 3ds Max. For more information, visit Gumroad.
Here is an alternative. I used to use this before they change into subscription model.

For simple patterns build in Array (new) would be enough for complex things theres Railclone which is more expensive and way powerful.Im sorry but idont see someone who buy it for 50$…
Hi Ken,
I am the developer of Pattern Engine. You’re right—you can create any pattern without using third-party tools. However, I believe that using Pattern Engine will save you a great deal of time and effort compared to any other approach, including other plugins.
We released it less than a week ago and have already received very positive feedback from our clients. Our sales rate is also very promising, reflecting strong initial interest and satisfaction.
Best regards
Hi Mahmoud Keshta,
“We released it less than a week ago and have already received very positive feedback from our clients.“
On Gumroad i don’t see any positive feedback and stars from no one.
Did Mahmoud Keshta specifically mention Gumroad?
Sorry for misunderstanding I have deleted my comment. I will get back later.
Hi Kamil, As Kevin said I don’t mean only gumroad. Also I didn’t activate public reviews yet. I was clarifying my point of view about pattern engine to Ken_smith In my previous comment.
