PhotoInsight asset manager adds support for 3D files
PhotoInsight is an asset manager with its roots in cataloguing and managing 2D images, however, the latest release adds support for 3D files too.
Users are able to preview, organise and search through 3D assets by keywords, author, caption, geocoding, rating and more. Specific 3D metadata can be displayed in a details panel including things like diffuse colours, face and vertex counts, materials, textures etc. In addition, users are able to preview a 3D asset in a real-time window with controls to rotate the object and move the lighting, change several rendering parameters such as lighting, background, bloom, and wireframe; create a turntable animation, and render thumbnails.
Filetypes supported include FBX, OBJ, 3DS, GLTF, DXF, STL, DAE, ASE, X, MS3D, M3D, and OFF. Any program that supports drag and dropping these can be used in conjunction with PhotoInsight, which costs $19. Find out more on the PhotoInsight website.
