Spline Dynamics has released a new sneak peek video for Randomixer, a new mesh combining and randomisation plugin for 3ds Max currently in open beta. According to the developer, the tool is designed to “generate multiple unique variants or states of your scene, model or character from sets of different elements and manage them within a collection, the video also shows the tool’s ability to randomise transforms and materials, swap objects, scatter them, create combinations between different sets of elements, automatically switch active lights and cameras, and more. Watch the teaser on YouTube and find out more on the Spline Dynamics website.

This is 100% specifically made for NFTs, lol. Good luck with that.

And everyone knows how badly we need more NFTs to heal the world.

I have zero interest in NFTs but I could see this being useful if you just wanted to bash out ideas/combos

It’s kind of weird seeing companies lean heavily into them when they know there’s a good chunk of artists who absolutely hate them

Don’t think so
There is a need in interior archviz to create different variants of furniture arrangments

I believe they changed the video. Before it looked more like just changing characters around, like kids do to make a bunch of NFTs. This looks much more useful when shown off like this.

Can we rename this the “whack a mole” plugin?

I dont see the issue with it being useful for NFTs
Many CG artists are uneducated as to what they are and only see the bad side and are coping / jealous they weren’t able to make any cash on it.

have fun staying poor and hating technology
