RenderMan 26.0 released
Pixar has announced the release of RenderMan 26.0. Improvements include better stylized looks, considerable instancing speedups, an enhanced statistics system, and expanded support for the latest 3D applications. RenderMan XPU now has better sampling, a broader lighting and camera toolset, light selection features, and full support for light and shadow linking, offering artists increased control and efficiency in their workflows. Additionally, XPU introduces support for all light filters, comprehensive camera controls, and adaptive sampling, and more.
RenderMan RIS integrates a new interactive denoiser available in Katana and Blender. Core updates have also been made to both RenderMan XPU and RIS, bringing faster instancing, improved texture read parallelism, and an updated statistics system.
RenderMan 26.0 is compatible with a range of operating systems and 3D applications. It also introduces updated plugins to conform to the VFX Reference Platform 2023, alongside improvements in CUDA for XPU and support for Enterprise Linux 7, with future updates planned for additional compatibility.
