RizomUV 2024 released
Rizom-Lab has released RizomUV 2024, including new advanced trimsheet feature, allowing users to load and export trims layouts in formats like PNG, BMP, TGA, and SVG. Trims can be locked, reshaped, transformed, and tagged. A new hotspotting feature offers precise matching of islands to trims based on various parameters and includes real-time updates and advanced preprocessing capabilities.
Transformation tools have been improved, with new tools for groups, stacks, and trims enabling comprehensive transformations such as fitting, aligning, and distributing UV elements. The universal fit and align tool offers various matching and snapping options.
Viewport improvements include shortest path functionality for polygons, improved snapping options, a sharpness histogram for edges, and an independent luminant texture mode. The algorithm and packing improvements feature a refined auto seams tool and optimized packing processes with better orientation algorithms and understandable scale settings. Density maps now impact island sizing during packing and hotspotting.
New island group and tagging panels improve the management and customization of islands, groups, stacks, and trims. Users can change colors, isolate, and hide groups, and create elastic, rigid, and stack groups.
Additional features include RizomUVLink Python modules for versions 3.11 and 3.12, the ability to export island borders in DXF files, improved export options including PNG files with transparent backgrounds, and enhanced normalize and unnormalize tools.
The UI has also been improved, now supporting HDPI with variable DPI on all platforms to eliminate blurry elements. Users can customize their workspace with full UI scaling and zoom settings. The new viewport contextual menu allows quick changes to primitive and editing modes, locking, grouping, and tagging. It’s also more intuitive with long-press buttons and standard dropdown behaviors.
