BD3D has released Scatter 5.3, the latest version of its parametric scattering tool for Blender. This release includes a new multi-surface feature, transition falloff controls, the ability to scatter by density or total instance count, point cloud display mode, camera optimisations, pattern-based distribution, improved interface, and much more. Read the full release notes for more information.
Amazing tool, it’ has improved over the time a lot, and always hearing users comments, also BD3D is an amazing developer and person who is willing to hear anyone using his product to make improvements.
If you use blender and create environments, you cannot miss this, behind the scene is leveraging a lot of GN without the need for the user to touch a single node.
Great release, great addon, I totally recommend it 🙂
Well i am an 3ds Max Veteran, but love the development of Blender, while i still havnt learned it.
But this Plugin sure fills up a gap, each Max user would painfully feel… missing forestpack.
but does there also exist something comparable to “Railclone”
It depends on the railclone features you need.
GN replaces railclone in several areas, however I know there are some details that are not there yet, well, TBH GN can be far superior to RailClone but what is not there yet is the user experience to be easy enough to be “comparable”, the great benefit of Rail Clone is the ease of use, and GN is very easy up to some point, but it’s complex for some advanced features.
However there are some things that are render dependent in Rail Clone, that I’m not sure that exists in GN, I have to investigate all the Rail Clone features to be able to fully answer this.
So right now I would say that GN can give you the majority of functionality, but not the user experience.
Forgive me my ignorance, but what is GN?
No problem.
GN is Geometry Nodes, a powerful Blender feature.
