Softimage announced the release of the first CAT update since Avid acquired the intellectual property assets of Character Animation Technologies. New features include a new system for manipulating CATRigs quickly and easily using gizmos, a pose mixer tool that allows you to animate in CAT the same way you would using morph targets, new pipeline tools that include a batch importer to import data into Max as well as a script-based batch exporter, etc. Interestingly enough, support for the 3DS Max plugin will now be provided by Softimage itself.
