UV Unfoldr is a UV editing plugin that brings a Maya-style UV workflow to Max, with component modes, marking menus, a UV Toolkit panel and a live 3D checker that updates on the model as UVs are edited.
It works like Maya’s UV editor and even better, with faster, more direct tools. The goal is fewer clicks and less fighting the native editor.
UV Unfoldr runs on top of the standard Unwrap UVW modifier, so all edits stay undoable and scenes open without the plugin installed.
Key features include:
- Unfold, Optimize and Move brushes for fixing distortion locally
- Shift+click edge-run selection, Select by Angle and Select Similar
- Straighten Edges and Straighten Shell
- A shape-aware packer that fills holes and keeps stacked shells together
- Texel density get/set/match
- FFD lattice, soft selection, align, distribute and orient tools
- UV sets, multi-object UV sets, UDIM tile labels and UV-to-smoothing
The plugin is developed by Sargis Ter-Grigoryan. It supports Max 2022-2027 and costs $39, with a 25% launch discount (code LAUNCH25) until November 3.
