Marionette is a Blender add-on for posing and editing character motion by hand – letting animators direct motion instead of fixing it bone by bone. Drag a hand, a foot, the hips or the head, and a pose model inside the add-on moves the rest of the body. It runs offline, on the rig you already use.
Tools include: motion trail, smoothing brush, timing handle, onion skin, hand/foot locking over a frame range, and Motion Check, which flags sliding feet and popping joints.
Rigs: humanoid deform rigs as-is (Mixamo, UE5 mannequin, Character Creator, Daz, VRoid, 3DS Max Biped, Rigify metarig), in T-pose or A-pose. On Rigify, Auto-Rig Pro and CloudRig control rigs it poses the FK controls and leaves IK to the rig.
It works alongside Animatica Choreographer, Animatica’s free, open-source (GPL) Blender add-on for generating motion. Marionette can edit Choreographer takes or any keyed animation.
The add-on is developed by Animatica and priced at $59 (perpetual license). Until October 28 you may use the code LAUNCH50 at checkout for a 50% discount. Watch a video and visit Animatica for more.
