New features in the interactive lighting add-on for Blender include:
- A new engine models a real softbox shining through diffusion fabric, and new Scrim lights use it by default
- Adaptive Size: The light grows by itself so the soft edge is never cut off, and the brightness stays the same
- Fabric Imperfection: Up close, Imperfection shows the folds of a real softbox front; as you add Feathering or Bias, it becomes the gentle ripple of stretched fabric, different on every light
- Light Linking Panels: New panels on the light and on the object show what each light lights or blocks, with one click per row to change it
- Link Picker: Click objects in the viewport or the Outliner — whole collections too — to switch them between lit, ignored, and unlinked
- Exposure Guard: A new view keeps your normal image and colors only weak shadows and clipping highlights
Light Wrangler is developed by Leonid Altman and its price starts at $48.97 for an individual license. A trial version is available. Read the changelog and visit Superhive and Gumroad for more.
