SpeedTree 8.4 released
SpeedTree 8.4 has been announced with improved export options and new high-performance wind in SpeedTree for Games that has “a refined natural motion while using a shorter vertex shader and smaller vertex buffer”.
Improvements include tweaks to opacity maps, lossless compression for TIFF exports, more information available in XML exports, refined AO computations to for oddly shaped models, the ability to add bones to FBX or XML files exported via the games exporting system, per-material atlas control, the ability to set a user-controlled name for atlases generated during game exports, and more.
This release also sees the addition of several new plant models to the library including several that combine photogrammetry with procedural modelling using the tools introduced in Speed Tree 8.3
