Are there any official comments from Autodesk on Ptex integration yet?
hm, from all results i get at the moment, this is something like old zbrushe AUV&GUV. You get fragmented UV Map, with lot of UV space wasted. I am not sure for which kind of production i should use it 🙁
Hype aside, it is a nice idea and good advertising for Disney 🙂
Thanks for the feedback sorash. I gather a fragmented map is expected since it’s per face texturing.
@Robert: None so far… but Autodesk has quite a few applications that could benefit from it, and their partnering with Mental Images would help them implement it on the rendering side.
True, it would definitely be a good addition in general… but I’m still missing something like InstantUV, this would be another valuable addition for texturing!
thanks Pabolo – and i support rs also, InstantUV was a genius plugin 🙂 I hope some remeber still at this tool back in 199x
If there is any developer out there I can provide them with infos, would be great to see this come back again!
