Substance 3D Painter version 9 released
Adobe has announced the release of Substance 3D Painter 9.0, introducing a new Paint along Path tool for creating re-editable paint strokes in the 3D viewport. Users can draw bezier-based curves on their 3D models and continuously refine their strokes.
A new icon has been added to the toolbar to activate this tool. A dedicated Path panel shows up at the top of the 3D viewport when the Path tool is selected, allowing users to manage paths within the current paint layer.
The Path tool is compatible with other paint features and tools like the eraser and smudge. Users can also save brush properties as presets. New tool presets are included in this version to exploit the new feature, such as Pipe Rack Sci-Fi, Puckering, Seam, Topstitching, Welding metal, and Zipper Tape.
Dynamic strokes have been improved with new properties like start/middle/end property, size and spacing property, and stroke length properties. Adobe also refreshed default base materials to make them more useful. For more details, users can refer to Adobe’s documentation.
