Substance 3D Sample 4.3 released
Adobe announced the release of Substance 3D Sampler 4.3. The update includes new Starter Content, an improved version of the Embroidery filter, a Perspective Crop tool, and advancements in texture generation.
The updated Starter Assets content in Substance 3D Sampler 4.3 provides materials that better align with the needs of various design workflows. These materials offer more control over the technical aspects of texture creation. The newly introduced texture generators enable users to create detailed materials using parametric noises, patterns, and grunge options. This feature simplifies the process of integrating generated imagery into masks or channel maps, facilitating collaboration between technical and creative teams.
The enhanced Embroidery filter in this version now supports improved stitching precision and can handle up to eight colors. It also allows for the integration of other materials in the patch, thanks to its inputs being back in the layer stack. Additionally, the new Perspective Crop tool is designed to crop distorted materials and scans. It uses four control points to eliminate perspective artifacts and produce tileable assets.
Other notable features include the Stylization filter, which allows users to give materials a hand-painted look, and the upgraded Fill filter that introduces Blend modes. These modes enable multiplying the value, input maps, or texture generators of the Fill with the channel results of the layers below. Furthermore, the Image Import Layer has been improved to support multiple images and generate an Opacity map from an image’s Alpha channel.
