Trapcode Suite 14 released

Red Giant Software announced the release of v14 of its collection of After Effects plugins for motion graphics and VFX. Updates brought by this latest version include Particular 3, Form 3 and an improved version of Tao.

Particular 3 offers GPU acceleration, improved Designer for easier particle effects creation, multi-system setups that can share parameter settings (such as turbulence and gravity), ability to use OBJ 3D models and animated OBJ sequences as particle emitters, over 210 new presets that show off the new features like multiple systems, OBJ emitters, etc.

Form 3 features and improved Designer for easier creation of particle grids, OBJ 3D models and animated OBJ sequences can be used as particle grids, any image in your composition can now be used as a particle by assigning it to a 2D sprite or textured polygon, enhanced control over your particle parameters with the ability to animate controls over time for the color, size, opacity, and dispersion of your particles, as well as their fractal and audio reactivity, etc.

The suite also includes: Tao, Mir 2, Shine 2, Lux, 3D Stroke, Echospace, Starglow, Sound Keys and Horizon.
Trapcode Suite 14 is priced at $999, upgrades from previous versions cost $199. More on Red Giant’s website.

Where did you hear that? I cannot find any info about dropping CS6. That would be a disaster.

They did it last time around with the grading plugins, seems a dumb move cutting off a revenue stream but there you go.

I think they had to evaluate if it makes sense for them to spend the money on development and testing for CS6. Chances are high that there are still several people using CS6…so, they can only hope that people will upgrade AE and then get their software. But with the recent price drop for Fusion I am not sure about that.

The reason they gave for dropping Photolooks for Photoshop CC2014 (2015?) was they switched to pure GPU rendering and their engine didn’t scale well above 4k resolutions. Seems like less of an issue now especially since even back then Photolooks launched its own window and process and sent the image back to PS.
