Unity 2019.1 available
Unity Technologies has released the latest version of it’s real-time engine with over 280 new features and improvements including updated Scriptable Render Pipeline, Shader Graph, GPU Lightmapping and several changes to the High Definition Render Pipeline and Post Production Stack.
Other improvements include new tools for artists such as runtime animation rigging and changes to audio, video and DCC tools. Timeline is now a validated package with a new Signals feature for allowing Timeline to interact with scene objects.
Changes to mobile publishing include the ability to patch an app package instead of doing a full rebuild. A new Mobile Adaptive Performance features provides data about thermal trends and more.
Linux users will be pleased to here that a compatible version of the Unity Editor is now available in preview.
Performance improvements include continued work on the mutlithreaded Data-Oriented Technology Stack which can be seen in action creating the Megacity demo. Also announced is a new physics solution developed in collaboration with Havok.
