wParallax Lobby collection – create interiors with a single polygon
wParallax has announced Lobby 1 Collection, a set of 15 textures of commercial lobbies, each in day and night versions, designed for office buildings and hotels.
The collection also comes with OSL shaders with setups for each maps plus an alternative setup called wP_BOX for use with 3ds Max V-Ray and Corona. It also includes a Simple Railclone Preset, that allows users to quickly distribute the lobbies using a spline, and change the settings between day and night maps.
The technique used by this collection uses OSL and a script named JIWindowbox to create fake interiors on a single polygon. The method, commonly used in video games, has been adapted for architectural visualization, to reduce the time and effort required to create detailed interior visualizations.
