Wrapit retopology tool for 3ds Max now free for all users
Matt Clark has announced that Wrapit is now available for free to all users. First introduced in 2009 Wrapit is a respected retopology tool for 3ds Max. Over the years though, Max has gained several updates, including features such as polydraw, auto retopology tools, and the recent conform modifier, that make the plugin less essential.Nonetheless Wrapit maintains a number of active users and continues to be a valuable addition to 3ds Max artist’s toolkits.
By offering Wrapit for free, the developers are not only giving back to the community but also ensuring that the tool remains accessible to all, regardless of budget constraints. This could encourage more artists to experiment with and adopt Wrapit, potentially revitalizing its popularity.
Existing users of Wrapit will receive an automatic update, ensuring they continue to benefit from the latest improvements and bug fixes. New users can download Wrapit from the official page.

Thank you Matt!
Bitdefender is blocking the Wrapit/Matt Clark site for me. False positive?
I use Bitdefender and the site is accessible, downloads and all; image links are broken though. Using Firefox with ABP and NoScript. Works with a clean Edge too.
Interesting – thanks for the info. I’ll try with firefox (I was using Chrome)..
Hi, Not sure why it would be blocked, I assure you there’s nothing unsavoury there!
The only thing I can think of is the mzp installer. This might be flagged as suspicious because mzp files are just renamed zip files that 3ds max can use to install scripts, so this may be deemed spoofing.
Thanks for the heads up about broken images, hopefully these should be working now.
Matt
Hi Matt;
I can’t access your site, (I’m in North America) the link provided here redirects to “http://www.matt-clark.co.ukhttp/www.matt-clark.co.uk/”
And “http://www.matt-clark.co.uk” to an error page: “https://www.matt-clark.co.uk/cgi-sys/defaultwebpage.cgi“
Strange, have you tried with different browsers or deleting your cache?
Having the same issue from the US, isitdownrightnow.com says the site is down as well. Any alternate URLs to download from? Thanks!
It’s strange, it works for me through various browsers and even vpns spoofing my geolocation, but I see that isitdownrightnow.com says it’s “down for everyone” (it’s not). https://downforeveryoneorjustme.com/ says it’s up… it must be something to do with various regions.. I really don’t know why…
Great plugin! Thanks! Do I remember correctly that there was second one, morphit? Similar to zwrap/wrap but done 10 years earlier?
Wrapit was first released 2009/10 I think, and I planned to add Morphit as an extension. It was bundled as beta version for a while, but was never really finished. Meanwhile some smart Russian’s saw what I was doing and made zwrap/wrap.
Yep, it was a genius idea!
Yeah, this is the curse of being first and too early with great ideas, Matt.
The first lesson on my very first day in Economics at university was a professor coming in and saying:
‘The first rule of anything you do is: The competition does not sleep, and it is fast.’
I have been haunted by this fear and trauma ever since. 🙂
Hi Matt, I only just spotted your reply – thanks for replying.
I tried again but to no avail. I suspect its a region thing, combined with no https? Clicking through the first red flag Bitdefender also went on to warn of some malicious URLS.
No worries.. my copy of Max is on life support anyway as my PC is ready for retirement!
