The developers of the MakeHuman project announced the official release of v1.0 of the open source software for modeling 3D humanoid characters. Shortly after announcing that its web-based production management tool was being optimized for integration into game-specific workflows, Shotgun Software has integrated its software with Perforce's proprietary revision control system to speed game development. The new offering provides game studios with a cohesive art and asset pipeline that links tracking, scheduling, publishing, review, and more with Perforce source control, directly from within third party content creation software. Perforce integration for Shotgun is in private beta and will be available as a public beta next week during the Game Developers Conference (March 17).
