The Blender Foundation announced the release of the latest version of its open source 3D software. New features include: improvements to Cycles renderer (deformation motion blur, fire/smoke rendering and a baking API), enhanced UI, animation has new interpolation types with “easing equations” presets, modeling adds “split normals”, new textured strokes in Freestyle NPR rendering, etc. More on Blender.org.

Blender keeps moving in a good direction, I’ve put 3ds max subscription on pause for now..waiting for autodesk to actually show some cool stuff to justify me jumping back onboard.
