Maxon One Spring update released
Maxon has announced it latest update to Maxon One.
The update includes Cinema 4D 2024.4, allowing artists to create particle simulations with new Cinema 4D Particles. These particles can be controlled and modified through integration with Cinema 4D’s Unified Simulation systems, allowing for detailed adjustments and interactions with various simulation types, such as Pyro and Cloth. Additionally, this release brings improvements to simulations with updates to the Connector Object, enhancements in aerodynamics, and more flexible simulation caching capabilities. Another new feature is the addition of Property Transfer and a new Keep Spacing option for the Smooth Edge tool.
Redshift 3.6.0 introduces non-photorealistic rendering options, including Contour and Toon Material nodes, enabling the creation of line and toon looks. This version also adds support for AMD graphics on Windows systems, expands volume rendering capabilities, and introduces alpha masking for area lights.
The Red Giant 2024.2 update features the debut of Red Giant Geo, a new tool allowing users to texture, light, and clone 3D objects directly in After Effects. Enhancements to Trapcode Particular and UI improvements for Looks are also included, which extends native language support to more tools within the Red Giant suite.
The Maxon Capsules library has been expanded, including the new Ivy Generator and Partition Modifier by Rocket Lasso and Wood Floors Vol. 01 materials for Redshift. Updates to Cineware for Unreal allow for easier material transfer between Cinema 4D and Unreal Engine.

Hm… I don’t think the fact that all the particles demo show an embarrassing small amount of particles is pure coincidence. It’s 2024, and C4D is still incredibly slow, even after the viewport refactoring.
Okay, I take that back. From the first tests I’m seeing, it seems it’s actually not that bad. Time to download the trial, I guess.
Such a shame that they aren’t offering permanent licenses for redshift anymore
Maxon are notorious for being stingy or not putting the consumer first. Never seen a black-friday sale from them, or redshift for that matter before Maxon bought them.
Redshift used to have Black Friday sales quite often before Maxon bought them. I used it several times.
