SideFX has released a video explaining that benefits of the Houdini Engine that shows a preview of the plugin for 3DS Max. In the video, we see how multiple Houdini assets are able to be loaded as modifiers in the stack. No date has yet been announced for the release, but it is expected later this year. The original recording was made at GDC in March 2018. Watch it on YouTube.
That’s a very powerful workflow. I would say it can be the best implementation of Houdini Engine.
Yeah, I love the way how it’s implemented, especially where an HDA can be one of many modifier on the stack. Even if you’re not an Houdini ninja you should be able to get something out of this!
Maybe I don’t have to give up Max, I prefer rendering and overall workflow in Max but I know Houdini and for all my frustrations with 3ds max’s development, this could be an ideal combo for me.
I feel the same now. Specially after I’ve seen tyfow as well. It’s a new plugin to replace pflow and totally multithreaded. Check on the stack group.
Amazing stuff.
MauricioPC, I cannot google it. Where did you find any info on this “tyfow” thing?
Of course you cannot google. Apparently I can’t type correctly. 🙂

Guess it’s tyflow, developed by Tyson Ibele:

It’s called ‘tyflow‘. A plugin in progress by Tyson Ibele.
There are a few short clips on his Instagram.
