As earlier reported, Affinity Designer, the Adobe Illustrator alternative developed by Serif is being ported to Windows. Serif announced that a free beta will be released today, with Affinity Photo for Windows free beta (the alternative to Photoshop) expected “later in the year”. Affinity Designer is being offered through standard (permanent) licensing, no rental or cloud involved. The software is priced at $49.99. More information on Affinity’s website.
Also of note, Serif has published a couple of videos showing new features in the 1.5 version of Affinity Designer, which is now available in beta for both Windows and Mac.

Good.
And why did A-Photo we need wait so long ?
Apparently they heavily optimized their code for mac and anyway porting between platforms generally takes more time and resources than many people imagine.
They have any plans of doing a After Effects alternative?
This and Linux versions are all my dreams T-T
Congrats, Love it!
this gonna kick Photoshop right on the nuts
It won’t take long before Ps and Ai finally kick the bucket, pardon my pun
I give it a quick try yesterday.
They clearly have a lot of work to do to catch up on the Windows porting as right now it feels clumsy, and definitely, it crashes quite easily.
That said, it’s so refreshing to see some new ideas and a different feeling than the usual Adobe’s approach to software interfaces.
If Affinity will be able to make the Windows porting fast and smooth, Adobe has some interesting battle to fight in the field, and for the price Affinity is selling its products, they can easily get my money.
