AMD launches GPUOpen

AMD has launched GPUOpen, a middleware software suite that offers a set of tools and resources for video game and graphics developers to help them exert more control over the GPU. Presenting it as an alternative to NVidia GameWorks, AMD has chosen to offer the software under MIT’s open source license, allowing developers to use it with few restrictions.
