AXYZ design has announced the launch of Anima All, a new subscription service that will give users access to its entire library of over 1600 assets including scanned 4d people, rigged characters, static ready posed models, and its ambient and animated 4d characters. In addition to assets, the subscription also includes access to a floating license of Anima Pro plus plugins for 3ds Max, Maya, Cinema 4D, and Unreal Engine.

According to AXYS Design, the new licensing system has been designed to work well with the kind of decentralised workplaces that have been common following the pandemic. The service holder will be able to manage, control and customize their Anima All licenses so that a team of artists and collaborators can work together no matter where they are. The subscription is priced at € 649/ year with discounts available for studios that require multiple licenses.

To find out more, visit the AXYZ website or watch the trailer on Vimeo.

Does someone knows if it has some limitations?

Does the subs work with Blender too?

You can export your animations from Anima software to FBX. Importing in Blender including animations ans textures is easy.
To setup your scene in the Animaa software you can import a basic scene from FBX as well. There’s just no direct link. (As far as I’m aware)

Been using the free version for a couple of visualizations now. I dislike the navigation in their app, but apart from that it works fine.

Don’t know about limitations.

Yes, I know that, my question was not a general one respect Anima, but about this subscription 🙂

I spoke with someone in the AXYZ team, and as always they have been open and clear with my doubts 🙂

NO EXPORT OPTIONS

For security reasons, anima® will have all the export options blocked when used with a subscription license.

We understand that this limitation might be a deal-breaker for some users that must use these export options in their workflow, like the ones working with software that is not supported yet by the anima® plugins (like Blender, Unity, Modo, and others).

Unfortunately, the menace of piracy is a real danger and we must protect ourselves against it. We have invested a lot of effort in making the protection layer totally transparent to the user, but there is no way for us to protect our models once they are not in the native anima® format anymore, so we don’t really have a choice in this case.

Here is the link with the information:

https://docs45.axyz-design.com/article/subscription-requirements/

Sadly this makes the subscription useless for many softwares as they say, Blender, Unity, Modo and others.

**Catch-22.**

– You can’t allow exporting as FBX, because a day after, all those assets will be on GFX-XXX.com and ten days later in 10.000 projects all around the world. For each sale you create an army of shared clones.

– You can’t share them as open source, neither. AnimaAssets are no hobby garage production quality, where you make few of them in few few months and dump them on some electronic Gumroad junk-yard , without support or guarantee. It is a line-up, support, continuity and reliability.
To create a series of such complex and high-quality assets you need to borrow money. F***ing lot of money, from investors, banks etc, to buy those High-Qu cameras, studio rooms, pay people an models etc. You need also to pay back this money and make profit, otherwise they will turn you off. And there is no Epic Platinum Patreon Blender Academy Gold community net to catch you if you fall. The market segment for those models is small and very specialized.

The current solution is an ugly solution, but the only one. Until they come to the idea to crypto-blockchain the assets so they can trace them, this will remain as such.

In the middle is the rondel made of supported 3D software with their Logos. No idea how Octane logo looks like, look there and maybe you will find it.

We have a script that can get these out of 3dmax and into unity via FBX, its not too difficult to get around the stupid licensing. For many years the pricing on AXYZ was insane, the lack of floating licenses was a nightmare so it led us to come up with our own tools to get around this.

We will not release this yet, nor will we sell the models but we do encourage AXYZ to consider fair licensing and fair pricing …..

When presented with heavy handed licensing we WILL get around it. Its a pity as if there was previopusly cloud licensing or floating licensing available we would not have had to make this tool as now it only means less money for AXYZ.
