Cascadeur free open beta now available
Nekki has announced a free open beta of Cascadeur, its physics-based character animation software.
Cascadeur was first announced in early 2019, and since then has been in a closed beta phase. In that time the developers tell us that more than 18,000 users have tried it out.
The version available for open beta testing also gains several improvements, including updates to the core architecture to improve speed, rig improvements (such as the ability to drag or rotate the center of mass without fixing it and improved interpolation) and improved rig creation tools.
Further improvements are planned soon including more intuitive rigging that will provide tools to customise rigs, Python scripting, and a beta-version of a Graph Editor.
The open beta can be used free, even for commercial work, and animations created with this version can be used freely in games and movies without permission.
Find out more about Cascadeur and download the beta on the software’s website, or see a new 5 minute demo on YouTube.
