SideFXhas released a video series that demonstrates how to combine keyframe animation with ragdoll simulation and secondary motion on a character in Houdini. The videos give an overview on KineFX rig setup and logic, then it goes to show keyframe animation and how to use that block-in animation to run a ragdoll sim and secondary motion for added detail to a character. Sidefx never disappoints
I am a fan of Sidefx, but the non-procedural rigging in KineFX is still cumbersome. Animation as well. I don’t think these videos will convince professional riggers and animators to switch to Houdini. But rigging and animation are very actively developed (together with muscles and viewport), so this can change in the (near) future.
