FumeFX drone aiming and firing tutorial for 3ds Max and Arnold

SitniSati, has released a new tutorial on creating realistic drone aiming and firing effects using the upgraded FumeFX 6 in 3ds Max.

Topic covered include a discussion on plants scattering, followed by importing character animation and setting up playback. The tutorial dives deeper into more complex topics such as creating a procedural laser targeting and firing system and detection of laser hits.

From there, it covers creating a particle burst upon laser impact and how to make dust particles settle on the ground. Techniques for applying a burned look to the grass hit by a laser are also shown, adding to the realism of the scene.

The guide further covers adding FumeFX simulations for dust and shading, rendering setup with Arnold, caching particles, and tweaking particles post-caching for a more refined look.
