Chaos has announced the acquisition of AXYZ design, developers of crowd animation software Anima and an extensive library of realistic posed, animated and 4D human figures. This latest move further increases Chaos’s growing ecosystem of real-time visualization tools, photorealistic renderers, and 3D asset libraries.
AXYZ’s flagship software, anima 5, offers over an easy-to-use system for adding its 2,500 scanned and animated characters to architectural scenes. The acquisition will cater to the growing demand for 3D scanned digital humans in architectural visualizations. Access to anima will remain unchanged for all customers, and Chaos plans to continue its collaboration with AXYZ to incorporate it into its other software.

I cant wait for them to increase the price even more and for the support to drop away.
AXYZ would have been better selling to Epic Games and further developing the people tech more rather than selling to chaos who struggle to make good software at an affordable price and consistently ignore and underservice their core products.

I’m not at all a fan of this buying spree and chaos getting bigger and bigger… but hopefully something good can come out of this. Like a proper LOD system and better integration without blowing 60% of the ram budget on anima people every time in our projects.
Chaos Group is concretizing its big size. Couldn’t imagine this is going to happen some time ago. I hope this will be part of same rental package.
