Chaos releases Vantage 2 as a standalone product
Chaos has released an updated version of their real-time visualization tool, Vantage 2. The tool, aimed at offering speed, quality, and flexibility in one place, includes close to 20 major new features.
Chaos Vantage enables users to navigate expansive 3D scenes in a real-time, fully ray-traced environment. The software does not require any geometry optimization, UV unwrapping, or lighting to bake during the import process. Users can simply drag and drop a V-Ray scene, or Live-Link to Vantage while using their preferred 3D creation tool.
Vantage 2 expands on these capabilities by introducing Scene States, allowing artists to easily explore different styles, moods, and camera angles using non-destructive variations. Each state can be saved and accessed with a click, simplifying the process of determining which lighting, materials, or post-processing effects best suit their viewers.
The tool now supports a range of new animation capabilities, including deforming meshes, AXYZ’s anima 4D people, and .vrscene effects that were previously exclusive to V-Ray. Additionally, it includes real-time Playblasts, filled with detailed lighting and shader information.
Vantage 2 also includes Render Elements, allowing rendered output to be divided into their back-to-beauty components for real-time editing in post, which aids in achieving more artistic effects and rapid integration with live-action footage.
Among the other new features are Chaos Scatter for easy distribution of millions of 3D objects, NVIDIA AI Denoiser with Upscaling for rapid denoising of high-quality images, Light Creation and Placement for creating different light types directly within Vantage, and Scattering Fog for setting scene moods with realistic environmental effects. Quality Presets, NVIDIA RTXDI, HDR Monitor Support, Nested Scenes, Orthographic Cameras, Mesh Lights, Camera Grouping with States Override, Multiple UV Channel Support, a refined UI, and AMD GPU Support are also included in the update.
Of note is the fact that Vantage is no longer included as part of V-Ray Premium, but it is available as a standalone product or as part of the Chaos Ecosystem collection.
