A commercial Python script for Cinema 4D by César Vonc for automating the animation of unfolding objects. Watch a video on Vimeo and find out more on the author’s website.
Nice script, wish there was one like this for max.
I think I’m going invest in a copy of C4D, software has come a long way and more and more studios are using it for motion graphics.

I have been a long time Max user. As a result of a mograph job in my studio i slowly migrated to cinema.
Compared to max i would say max has slightly better polygone modeling an snapping tools(ther since maybe version 5). In all other areas cinema wins. It`s much more homogeous and well oragnized. Max feels kind of duct-taped. Keyframe and timeline editing in cinema is outstanding and working with cinema on a daily basis is definitely more satisfying. The mograph module alone is a reason and the interoperability of all parts is great. You can use almost everything in conjunction with each user, particles, hairs, splines, dynamics mograph and deformers work well together and you have visual scripting(node based).
I’ve been a C4D user for years, and I started using 3ds Max a couple of years ago. I miss C4D Mograph a lot! As well a good hairs system.
I agree about the interoperability of all C4D modules, it’s quite solid.
What I definitely I don’t miss about C4D, but I instead enjoy a lot in 3ds Max is: Keyframing/Timeline, 3ds max is waaay better. I find C4D’s cumbersome, when there are many objects it gets confusing. I end up always zooming in/out, rearranging the view. Switching from Key mode to f-curve it’s just annoying, you switch it, then you’ve to select the object to see the curve. They updated the timeline several times over the years, never got to a flawless solution.
Then particle system, Pflow is just another level. Simple enough but really powerful. C4D has Mograph, but particle system is just not there compared to Pflow (unless you use Xpresso, but then Adiós simplicity).
3ds Max modifiers stacking, just can’t live without it now (and for editing, it still makes me wonder how I worked without it before).
Then the integration with Vray, just the best.
There are pro & cons in each application. I just wish 3ds Max would have something like Mograph and better Hair system.
I have to admit that i don`t have been much into pflow.
I can remember i have seen a plugin or script here for max that mimics mograph to certain degree. It had a more generic name like “i don`t know animation system” so i could`nt find it yet.

Just my 2c.
