Blender Foundation has announced the addition of Netflix Animation Studios as a corporate patron to its Blender Development Fund, its funding program supporting the development of Blender. The contribution is directed toward general core development, with the stated aim of improving content creation tools used by individuals and production teams working across media and entertainment workflows.
The Blender Development Fund operates through a corporate membership structure designed for organizations seeking to support the continuity and technical quality of the Blender project. Membership fees are treated as donations and are allocated to approved core development work and related facilities. Corporate members are assigned points of contact on the board and development teams, allowing closer visibility into funding priorities and supported projects.
The Blender Foundation engages corporate members in discussions on annual grant planning and reviews of previously supported work. Memberships include varying levels of public recognition, ranging from website logo placement to mentions in official reports, events, and press communications. Higher tiers include additional coordination through developer liaisons, board-level contacts, and dedicated product management aligned with specific development areas.
