Adobe has released Photoshop 27.3 introducing new adjustment layers, text tools, and updates to AI-based features.
The update adds new Clarity, Dehaze, and Grain adjustment layers, making these controls available as maskable, layer-based edits inside Photoshop. These adjustments allow users to modify midtone contrast, reduce atmospheric haze, and apply film grain without permanently altering image data.
Photoshop 27.3 introduces Dynamic Text as a beta feature. This tool allows text layers to be reshaped into circular, arched, or bowed forms through preset options. Text automatically resizes and conforms to the selected shape, reducing the need for manual path creation and alignment.
Several AI-powered features have been updated using newer Adobe Firefly models. Generative Fill, Generative Expand, and the Remove Tool now support output up to 2K resolution, with improvements aimed at reducing visible artifacts and seams. Adobe states that generated content better follows user prompts and integrates more naturally with surrounding image elements.
Reference Image for Generative Fill has been updated to provide stronger preservation of object identity. The tool now produces geometry-aware results that account for scale, orientation, lighting, color, and perspective when compositing generated objects into a scene.
The updates are available in the desktop version of Photoshop, with Firefly-powered Generative Fill, Generative Expand, and Remove Tool updates scheduled for Photoshop on the web.
