The new version of Autodesk 3ds Max is a significant update. New features include:
- Native Gaussian Splat (3DGS) support provides fast rendering and editing
- New Point Object type allows to edit 3DGS data or create point data from scratch using the new point data manipulation modifiers and object type
- New Point Instance modifier enables true render-time instancing and helps create highly complex scenes from organized data sets such as forests and grasslands (does not support Point Cloud objects or particle data)
- Smart Bevel produces better output with improved speed and reliability
- Arnold for Max 5.9.3.0 with support for rendering 3D Gaussian Splats, improved denoiser, new Shader to RGBA and tone zones nodes for non-photorealistic rendering, faster GPU scene updates, etc.
