Autodesk (parent company of Discreet) recovered $5.6 Million in North American software piracy settlements for fiscal year 2001 which ended January 31, 2001. This brings ADSK’s Piracy Prevention Department‘s total take to over $45 Million since it’s inception in 1989. The press release names Florida, California, Missouri, Arizona, and Texas as the states doling out the biggest antipiracy awards. The statement also fingers five of the companies successfully sued for the largest settlements during fiscal 2001.
