DaVinci Resolve Studio 18 gets support for Blackmagic Cloud workflows as well as the DaVinci Proxy Generator app. In addition, the update adds new Resolve FX such as surface tracker to add effects to flexible moving surfaces, 3D depth map for separating backgrounds and isolating objects, and ultra beauty mode. It also adds improved subtitling, 5×5 multiview for large multicam projects, Fairlight fixed to FlexBus and GPU accelerated paint in Fusion. There’s also support for Blackmagic RAW 2.6 and the ability to stabilize clips using AI and camera gyroscope metadata. A full list of new features is available on the Blackmagic website.
DaVinci Resolve 18 gains remote collaboration tools to enable cloud-based workflows. Users can host project libraries using Blackmagic Cloud and collaborate on the same timeline, in real-time with multiple users around the world. The Proxy Generator app creates and manages proxies for users, and DaVinci Resolve has a new proxy menu, which makes working with them automatic. More information is available here.
