This is how you do proper development and make people feel the software is worth the investment.
I do not use houdini yet, but it sure is tempting.

It’s 100 percent worth the investment in $ and in the time to learn it! Even if it’s not your main DCC, there are so many uses for it.

Wow. Indie version in my future.

Amazing! Vellum for fluids looks like the perfect way for small and stable droplet sims.
Karma XPU looks really promising already, might have to start considering learning/using Solaris.
Great improvements across the board. It’ll take a while to unpack all this!

And sidefx offer perpetual license also – i remember how adobe and autodesk said that subscription is only way to boost their development but everything seems to go wrong direction in their software especially after subscription only thing.

This ishow its done, it reminds me of the good old days back in 1996 upwards to very early 2000’s where every release of Maya or Max was something mindblowing.

Autodesk you swine this is how its done and you fuckaries own more money than SideFX can put together in 10 years, yet they do more in one year with what they’ve got than you could do in 20.

Hello original Guest,
while I do 100% agree with what you are saying, I think there are better ways of saying it. CGPress and former Max-underground are/where great resources with a friendly, well-spoken community.

What I’m trying to say is, your way of writing does not fit the spirit. It’s fine if you want to be “that guy”. But why do you not try to be better than “that guy”. Again, I still think you are right though.

I have no idea why do people use this crap software when there is software like CATIA, SOLIDWORKS or even Siemens NX

Just another pathetic guy begging for some attention with random childish comments in every article. This is very common in these pandemic days.

I was about to say the same, all of those are CADs, nothing to do with Houdini whatsoever!

for architecture you need to youse Renderman, for example, the movie Avatar was made with Unity Engine which is VFX software
