New features in IntegrityWare’s plugin that brings subdivision surface modeling to SolidWorks include: support for parametric Sub-D design, tangential connectivity to SolidWorks surfaces and solids, constraints to connect to SolidWorks geometry, level of detail editing, curvature analysis / display tools to facilitate optimal surface smoothness and SolidWorks 2015 support.
Once converted into a native SolidWorks part, Power Surfacing Sub-D models are treated as if they had been created with traditional SolidWorks tools. Features like Booleans, fillets, shells, etc. can be applied to the Power Surfacing bodies. After applying these tools, users can go back to the original Sub-D form and modify the surface shape, and SolidWorks tools will be reapplied.
The 2.0 version is a free upgrade for current owners of the 1.x version. Watch a new features video and find out more on the official website.
