Kitsu – new production tracking software
CGWire has announced the release Kitsu, a new open source production tracking solution they describe as “Better than Excel, cheaper than Shotgun”. In fact, the software is offered in two flavours, a free self-hosted option available under a GPL 3 license on Github, and a commercial cloud solution.
Kitsu focuses on simplicity and is designed for use by small to mid-sized studios. The developers claim it can be learned in minutes. For more advanced users it includes an API so that studios can synchronise it with their current pipelines. It includes the features you’d expect, including the ability for artists to upload previews that supervisors can then comment on or add annotations.
A to do list and time tracking is also available so that precise costings can be calculated. Organisation is by project and team, with the ability to customise and assign specific teams to a project so that they have access to the information they need.
The cloud hosted solution starts €99 a month up to 10 users, €299 for 11 – 50 and €999 for 51 – 150. A free trial is available. Find out more on CGWire’s website or visit Github to find out about the self-hosted version.
great to see more options! Hopefully a bit easier to set up than TACTIC
Thank you CGPress for your article! It explains really well what we do. The only thing that you missed is the company name. We are CGWire not 3DWire.
For Jumanji, yes we made sure that the installation is simple as possible. There is docker image for trial purposes: https://hub.docker.com/r/cgwire/cgwire/
