While attending the opening of the new FuseFX facility in Sherman Oaks yesterday, Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti is calling for expanded tax credits to help local visual effects companies, compete with their counterparts in places like London, Canada, and even other states like Georgia and New York. The past few years have been rough for the VFX industry in and around Los Angeles, seeing lots of companies like Digital Domain and Sony leave town for better subsidies up north in Canada and abroad.
