This week, VFXBlog has been looking back at the techniques and technology of the Jurassic Park films, the first of which was released nearly 25 years ago.
The articles are a worthwhile read for anyone interested in the history of VFX. They include a History of Viewpaint, an early texturing tool that enabled artists to paint directly on models; an Oral History of the Dinosaur Input Device, a stop-motion armature that allowed animators to control a 3D model with a physical interface; a look at the technological enhancements in Jurassic Park III including AO, virtual sets, flesh sims and simulated plants; and finally a look at some of the Mocap developments introduced by ILM for Jurassic World .
