A number of smoothed-particle hydrodynamics fluid simulations have been posted by the developers of DualSPHysics, a software designed to study free-surface flow phenomena such as waves or impact of dam-breaks on off-shore structures. Their latest video shows a simulation that uses more than 10^9 particles, and was carried out using 64 GPUs Tesla 2090. More on DualSPHysics’ Vimeo channel.

I’m curious what they’re doing differently as SPH tends to be best used in contained flows and not large tank-style simulations like this. Incompressible solvers are normally a better fit for such things.
