It is with great pleasure that we announce that the Max Underground Forum is now live! Born from the famous “Autodesk SIGGRAPH / Naiad” thread, which got more than 500 comments, we’ve been cooking the site collectively for some time and now it’s ready to open its doors to the public. Welcome to the first publicly requested CG forum: MUForums.org!

Congratulations, may this be the start of a new era for the software that we all love and I hope the forum becomes and remains as active and alive as this blog, although I won’t be able to join it since I don’t have a portfolio site (even though I’m active in other communities).

@DAngel – you could post a link to your Vimeo or CGTalk works, this is just to prevent noobs to flood the forum…

@ rs, my area of activity is more of a knowledge contribution rather than personal works, but thanks, I’ll try that.

Let’s make it a nice place. There are even already 2 forum sections that should be good for KeyScript questions 🙂

Thanks a lot

Very dis-heartened by all the negativity around 3ds Max this year and this Max-centric forum definitely lifts my spirits 🙂

Thanks for making this real!

Great to see this finally happen! Do you have a ballpark time for how long it will take to be reviewed and accepted after registering? Will a user be notified if they haven’t been successful?

Thanks,

Pete

@Pete: We’re moving through the list of registrations quite fast, but time of approval varies among registrations.

> Will a user be notified if they haven’t been successful?

We’re receiving a good number of registrations with little info, wrong links, etc., some are probably from spammers, so regrettably we can’t notify everyone.

If ppl have filled their registration properly including a good portfolio and are missing something, they shouldn’t worry. We will do our best to try to make things work.

It’s a great community. All major players of what made 3ds Max great are there. You have CEO of plugins, VFX Supervisors, etc.

But it would be nice if some of the forums were actually open for discussion. Not necessarily the technical ones, but the ones were we can actually continue to discuss the future of 3ds Max.

Anyway …
