Rapid Tools has releasedOctopus 2, a new version of its octal menu system for 3DS Max that offers a fully scriptable and customizable menu system. According to the developers, you can use 96 actions under a single hotkey, just using a mouse. Octopus 2 includes a large number of predefined octal menus, including Modeling (Chamfer, Inset, Extrude, Bridge, Connect etc.), selection (ring, step ring, loop, step loop, grow, shrink etc.), modifiers (Chamfer, Symmetry, Turbosmooth), smoothing groups, group, views etc. menus and more.
The menu system has repeat last functionality using delaying throughout, or by clicking with the middle mouse on a button. It has nesting and “Octopus Friends” functionality, which means you can change between your menus using your mouse wheel.
