Adobe has released the latest version of Photoshop, alongside stable features, version 24.5 introduces a beta version of the app that offers exclusive access to new AI tools. Features include:
- Generative Fill
Generative Fill is a new feature currently exclusive to the Photoshop (Beta) desktop app. This tool enables users to add, extend, or eliminate content from their images non-destructively. By using simple text prompts, users can create AI generated results that blend with the user’s image. To try out the Generative Fill, users can install the Photoshop beta on their desktop via the Beta apps tab in their Creative Cloud desktop app. - Adjustment Presets
Adjustment Presets offer the ability to alter the look of images swiftly and easily. The Adjustments panel now includes presets, such as Portraits, Landscape, Photo Repair, Creative, Black & White, and Cinematic. These presets are helpful for photo editors who wish to streamline their workflow. - Remove Tool:
The Remove Tool provides a solution for quick image cleanups. This tool uses advanced technology to eliminate undesired objects from the image while automatically filling in the background. It’s said to be particularly efficient in removing larger objects, for example it can take out significant elements like buildings or cars while maintaining the integrity of the overall composition. - Contextual Task Bar
The Contextual Task Bar is a permanent menu designed to provide users with the most relevant next steps in their workflow. This feature aims to improve the user experience by presenting a curated list of option based on the current task at hand. - Improved Gradients
Users can now easily draw, preview, and adjust gradients through the improved Gradient Tool in the Photoshop desktop app. The new on-canvas controls and a live preview that can be edited non-destructively make it easier to create visually striking gradients.
