Prolonged sitting augments risk of early death by 40%, according to study

A thorough study conducted in Australia by universities and health institutions has found that sitting for 11 hours a day increases risk of early death by 40%, regardless of complementary physical exercise. The study also links prolonged sitting to various other serious diseases, including cardiovascular problems, diabetes and more. The CG scene is plagued by cases of health problems, a lifestyle that combines sedentary habits with long work hours can produce a heavy toll on the body. There is strong need to raise awareness about these issues among CG artists, and Australian animator Duncan Elms has recently used CG tools to help translate this message to the visual medium.
