Radeon ProRender for Blender 3.6 released
AMD has announced a new release of ProRender for Blender. The latest update for the software, version 3.6, now supports Blender 3.5. It introduces enhancements like AMD’s HIP in the RPR Final mode for GPU running, leading to quicker initial renders despite a larger download package. The RPR Interactive mode also sees improvements, including displacement and Lookup UV nodes support, and compatibility with GPUs having less than 8 GB VRAM or without hardware-accelerated ray tracing.
RESTIR-based direct lighting and FSR2 upscaling have been added to the Interactive mode settings, alongside new render setting presets. Moreover, version 3.6 supports updated Mix nodes in Blender 3.4 and adds new operations to the Math node. The toon shader UI now supports three modes as well.
The update fixes multiple bugs, including material preview issues in Blender 3.4 and 3.5, and errors with the Radius and UV support for new curves in Blender 3.4. An issue with a Nvidia driver update has also been addressed. However, a known issue remains with Blender 3.5’s Metal viewport interfering with viewport rendering, and users are advised to switch to the OpenGL GPU backend as a workaround.
