Sketchfab API release brings integration with Unity, Unreal and Godot and more
Sketchfab has announced the release of a new API that will enable developers to create tools to import content from Sketchfab into nearly any 3D application. This will give users to access the free library of over 150,000 creative commons models directly from within their applications.
In addition to keyword searches, results can be filtered using categories, tags and polygon counts. At the time of the announcement, plugins are already available for Unity, Unreal and Godot with several partnerships in place to create plugins for Cinema 4D, Houdini, Octane, Blender, Substance, Modo and many more.
The next stage of development will allow users to import users own content in addition to items purchased from the SketchFab store. Find out more about the API and download the plugins from the SketchFab Blog.
