The latest work from Polish artist/director Tomek Baginski and Platige Image studio is available on the net. Run (“Bieg”), made in cooperation with the Lech beer company, is more of a commercial than a short film and it’s the first serious attempt at 3D stereoscopic animation in Poland. The fast-paced narrative shows various stages of life: from early childhood to adulthood, a metaphor for human life. Thirty people worked on the video, consisting of 85 takes, and using mocap for animation. The main protagonist travels through 9 worlds, featuring a video game-like narrative with elements from that aesthetic, marked by a rhythmic tempo through fast cutting, camera movements, movement inside the frame, and sound.
