UV-Pro for ZBrush
Mohamed Alsadany has released UV-Pro, a new ZBrush plugin. The main goal of UV-Pro is to transform the UV unwrapping process in ZBrush by unifying all the necessary tools into a single user-friendly platform. This removes the need for users to switch between different applications or ZBrush menus.
UV-Pro comes with a dedicated section for editing and repairing UV maps, providing users the ability to achieve high-quality results. The platform includes two fundamental methods for UV unwrapping: Edge-Based Seams and Color-Based Seams. The Edge-Based Seams method relies on defining seams along the edges, whereas the Color-Based Seams method converts closed paint lines into UV islands.
Additionally, UV-Pro includes a set of essential Quality Check Maps, such as a Continuity map, Solid Wireframe Map, and Checker map, to confirm the UV unwrapping results and assure optimal texture distribution. The plugin also supports automatic unwrapping for hard surface objects.
For simpler shapes, UV-Pro efficiently performs projection UV mapping. Moreover, the plugin provides comprehensive tools for editing and refining UVs.
